Cowlitz County Is Its Own Medicare Service Area
This is the part that surprises people. Medicare Advantage and Part D plan availability is set county by county. The plans offered in Cowlitz County are not necessarily the same ones offered in Clark County, and a Longview address cannot enroll in a plan that is only sold in Vancouver.
It matters more than it sounds. If a neighbor, a relative in Vancouver, or something you read online mentions a plan, the first question is always whether that plan is even available at your address.
One local wrinkle worth knowing: Woodland straddles the Cowlitz–Clark county line. If you live in or near Woodland, your exact address decides which plans you are eligible for. Worth confirming rather than assuming.
Serving Longview, Kelso & Cowlitz County
I work with people throughout Cowlitz County, including Longview, Kelso, Woodland, Castle Rock, and Kalama. Appointments happen by phone, by Zoom, or in person, whichever suits you.
Checking Your Doctors Before You Enroll
PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview is the main hospital for the area. Whichever providers you use, the network question is the one to settle before you enroll, not after. Networks change every year, and a plan that worked last year may not include the same doctors this year.
Here is how to verify your providers before you sign anything.
